ÜNSEVER ATTORNEY PARTNERSHIP, which originally started as ÜNSEVER LAW FIRM in 1986 in Izmir, founded by Ferhat İlker Ünsever, later moved to Istanbul in 1996. Until the end of 2022, it operated under this title, and it has since continued its professional activities as ÜNSEVER ATTORNEY PARTNERSHIP, with the joint participation of Nayıf Altaş and S. Elif Altaş, who have been integral members of the ÜNSEVER family for over 20 years, alongside Ferhat İlker Ünsever.

TRADEMARK


Trademarks may consist of any signs like words, including personal names, figures, colors, letters, numbers, sounds and the shape of goods or their packaging, provided that such signs are capable of distinguishing the goods or services of one undertaking from those of other undertakings and being represented on the register in a manner to determine the clear and precise subject matter of the protection afforded to its proprietor.

Previously trademark rights in Turkey were protected by Decree-Law No. 556 on the Protection of Trademark. But trademark rights have been protected by Industrial Property Law No. 6769 since 22.12.2016.

As stated in the first article the purpose of this Code is to protect the rights relating to trademark, geographical signs, design, patent, utility model and traditional product names and thus to contribute to technological, economic and social progress.

Trademarks must be registered before Turkish Patent and Trademark Office in order to benefit from the national / international protection stipulated by our legislation.

As is known, the application and registration procedures of “Trademark”, “Geographical Indication” and “Industrial Design” are carried out through “Trademark Attorneys” who are registered in the Turkish Patent and Trademark Attorney’s Registry.

Since 2014, Ünsever has been providing consultancy to its clients on "Trademark", "Geographical Indication" and "Industrial Design" and representing its clients in the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office.
